It is impossible to imagine the educational process in today’s world without the active participation of industry professionals. It is precisely during these meetings with practitioners that students have the opportunity to learn about the functioning of specific industry markets and the development of competition, discover effective practical techniques for achieving success in the business environment, and get answers to questions about their career prospects. On October 5, 2026, as part of the activities of the student research clubs “Competition of the 21st Century” and “Synergy of Industry Markets,” a guest lecture was delivered by the chairman of the board of the Institute for Sustainable Development and founder of the Kharkiv Energy Cluster, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Renewable Energy Association, Doctor of Technical Sciences, and Professor Stanislav Ignatiev.
The lecturer discussed global energy security issues in an accessible and engaging manner, highlighted the importance and role of each type of power generation in shaping the energy balance, and explained how nuclear, thermal, wind, solar, and hydroelectric power plants operate. Mr. Stanislav shared analytical information with the students and presented his own calculations regarding the determination of the energy component’s share in the cost of goods and services. The students were particularly interested in Mr. Stanislav’s practical experience in the energy sector. The students gained valuable insights into professional skills, risk assessment, and risk mitigation strategies related to the dynamic development of the energy sector, among other topics.
The students and the university’s faculty and staff are sincerely grateful to Mr. Stanislav for a very informative, comprehensive, interesting, and creatively delivered lecture!
